2020 Workshop Leader Bios

Chris Resch is currently a teacher in New Jersey! More to come!

Chris has been a science teacher since 2006 at Montgomery High School (MHS) in Skillman, New Jersey. Chris was first introduced to Modeling Instruction for Chemistry by Donghong Sun and Lisa Chedid in 2009 and later for Biology by Angela Gard in 2012. Upon seeing the power of this pedagogical method he immediately integrated this practice into his practice and has since expanded upon its techniques. Trained as a Modeling Instruction workshop leader, New Jersey NGSS Ambasador, and local Danielson Evaluations trainer, Chris has led many Modeling and non-modeling biology workshops for STEMteachersNYC, the American Modeling Teachers Association, the New York City Department of Education, the New York State Master Teacher Program at Binghamton University, STEMTeachersCLE, and various public and private schools. He is also the lead author of the Biology curriculum, “Historical Modeling Sequence in Biology” a free Modeling Inspired Biology Curriculum designed for advanced biology students. Chris is not afraid to bring science, history, pedagogy, and narrative theory into focus to empower students, and tell the story of Biology in his classes. When not working, Chris’ two young children keep him busy!
